Marie Maty Sermon is the Founder and Director of Parent Arise CIC, a Community Interest Company committed to empowering, educating and supporting parents as they navigate children’s social care services and family-related challenges.
With over a decade of experience working with children, young people and families, and more than seven years as a qualified Social Worker, Marie has dedicated her career to safeguarding children while supporting families through some of the most challenging periods of their lives. Throughout her professional journey, she has worked within children’s social care, partnering with families, professionals and multi-agency teams to promote positive outcomes for children.
While working on the frontline, Marie witnessed the emotional impact that involvement with children’s services can have on parents and carers. Many families found themselves overwhelmed by unfamiliar processes, uncertain about their rights, and unsure of how to effectively engage with professionals. She recognised that although safeguarding children must always remain the priority, parents also need access to accurate information, practical guidance and compassionate support so they can participate confidently and constructively in decisions affecting their children.
Marie believes that every parent deserves to be treated with respect, listened to with compassion and supported without judgement. She is passionate about building positive relationships between families and professionals, recognising that collaboration, understanding and mutual respect lead to better outcomes for children.
In addition to her professional career, Marie is an experienced mentor, speaker and community advocate who is committed to strengthening families, empowering communities and promoting lasting positive change. Her leadership is guided by integrity, professionalism, compassion and a genuine desire to see families flourish.
